China, U.S. 'in Sync' Over N.Korean Nuclear Test
The U.S. and China are "completely in sync" in their efforts to
prevent another North Korean nuclear test, Washington said Friday.
Asked about the U.S. administration's expectations of China in dealing with North Korea given their special relationship, U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said, "At the time that we discussed and then approved UN Security Council Resolution 2087, we had extensive conversations with all of the six-party talks countries, but also with all of the Security Council countries. And we were very gratified to see that all of them, including China, were willing to come forward with tough consequences."
Beijing has been pressuring Pyongyang to abandon the plans for a nuclear test, including calling in North Korean diplomats several times to press the concerns of the international community.
