China 'May Send Envoy to Stop N.Korean Nuclear Test'
China is apparently minded to send officials to North Korean to dissuade the renegade country from conducting another nuclear test.
"China is looking into a wide range of measures to stop North Korea from conducting a nuclear test," said a diplomatic source in Beijing. "Those measures include sending a delegation to North Korea."
Beijing is also mulling its response should the North go ahead with a test regardless of the disapproval of its sole diplomatic ally, according to the source.
Chinses Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told reporters on Monday that Beijing "opposes any actions that could heighten tensions on the Korean Peninsula or adversely affect denuclearization."
