Capt. Talps was the Commanding Officer of the 249th Military Police Detachment, Ascom Korea.
1977
November 25. Major Talps died in an automobile accident in Ft. Riley, Kansas.

ReplyDeleteCapt Talps was/is a great leader: as a 20yr old Specialist he made me acting sgt Mp performing duties in very dangerous environment( viet nam vets, 2nd infantry soldiers etc) he counseled me on many areas of life circumstances and encouraged me in my Taekwondo ( Blackbelt obtainment) Nov 22 1974 Seoul korea kukkiwon : his monday morning Company were serious but he was extremely comical ( look like Godfrey Cambridge and Rap like Red Foxx) his favorite saying was " i get tired of people pissing in his face calling it water" i imagine to the prison population being mostly minority and caucasian would be sent stateside representating to The south koreans a negative opinion on Minority Americans:he coach the sport teams,work with the orphanages (war babies etc) and made my duties alot more pleasurable Love the Great leader Bobby lee Gillard Sr Sgt 249th.
